Adam Scalese, PhD, Psychology Resident
Professional Highlights: Dr. Scalese received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University. His dissertation explored the processes and outcomes of 12-step groups for individuals with problematic pornography use. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Brigham Young University Counseling and Psychological Services.
Specialties: Dr. Scalese primarily works with adults, couples, and adolescents with a variety of concerns. These include depression, anxiety, marital and relationship concerns, sexual concerns (pornography and masturbation), OCD, religious issues, diversity issues, and identity development. He is an LGBTQ ally. He works collaboratively with each client to understand their concerns and the approach that is going to be most helpful. He uses an integrative approach drawing from humanistic, interpersonal, gestalt, and cognitive behavioral theories.
