Alex Julian, M.A., PhD Candidate in Counseling Psychology
Professional Highlights: Alex is currently completing his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at BYU. Prior to moving to Utah, he received a M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. He has experience working with adolescents in residential treatment and has also worked helping children and youth who experience Autism Spectrum Disorder, with social skill development.
Specialties: Alex works with adolescents and adults. He uses a combination of interpersonal methods, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Gestalt therapy in his approach. He seeks to help clients gain greater awareness of their patterns of social interaction to make positive changes in their lives. He has particular interest and proficiency in helping individuals who have experienced trauma. He also works with those who experience depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, and LGBTQ+-related concerns.
